Ok, I bew up the transmission in my 98 z24. Is there any way that I can swap all the internals from a getrag unit into my casing? I was talking to a guy from a transmission shop, and he said that you can take the internals from a 2000+ 2.2 cavalier and put them in there without much hassle. Is this true, or should I look at getting a quafie in the car?
no, but you can do the transmission swap. not worth it imo as the getrags are also @!#$ transmissions.
just do some upgrading to the diff of the izuzu (like an lsd) and you'll be fine!

Don't forget about the spider gears too, those are crap, and should be replaced with stronger ones. But if u get a quafie, that fixes all that.
