probably about 2 - 3 hours...... for your first time.

How I do it.....

  1. Remove Subframe

  • remove power steering rack bolts, and pry up on rack
  • remove tie rod end nuts
  • remove brake calipers
  • Pull 6 subframe bolts
  • pull lower mount bolts
  • remove axle nuts
  • drop one strut at a time (removing bolts/nuts for upper strut mount)

  1. Remove bell housing to engine bolts
  2. disconnect clutch line
  3. remove 3 front and 3 rear trans mount bolts
  4. pop axles out of trans
  5. pry trans loose and remove it

Thats about the jist of it..... maybe not in that complete order, but pretty close. Make sure you put a floor jack under the engine, to support it when you remove the trans mounts. I usually lower the engine down some, makes it easier to pull the trans out.

Don't forget the starter bolt. You don't need to remove the tie rod end nuts or the brake caliper and the struts. Your instructions are pretty vague. You need to remove the trans mounts and disconnect the shift cables and remove the bracket for them too. Don't forget to make scribe marks around the strut bolts.
