any one done the auto to 5speed swap ??? on a 2.4l any pictures of the process or b4 and after ? and how does it ride ?
I did it on the 2.2. The tranny is different on the 2.4 so i don't know if the swap is similar. As far as the ride, it rides fine, but I'll warn you up front, it's a lot of work. Welding is involved on the frame rail to install the 5 speed mounts.
But, that said, I love having a 5 speed now, comparted to the 3 speed that came out.
the swap will be the same for all 3rd gens..... no matter of what engine...... the only difference is the part numbers between the Isuzu, and Getrag transmissions..... (different hydrolic setups)
