Where can I get a high stall torque converter other than ebay. The only ones on ebay are 3,000rpm.
Call any of the custom high performance/race converter manufacturers. You can get anything from a good stock rebuild to a full race converter. Don't use any of the mass rebuilders converters though, go through a custom shop. Just Google " high performance torque converter."
BTW, the stock converters come in stall speeds up to2795rpm.

Adam I couldn't find one on the Pro Torque site, and the Yank ones are only 3,000RPM correct?
my stock stall speed was 2400 and now with the yank converter its 2900 and it makes a noticable difference

Are you sure? That is a little high sounding for a stock vehicle with stock TC.... i had a 2002 LS Sport and was NEVER able to get anything close to that stall speed with the car being bone stock.
Here is the stall speed of my car with the Yank TC and otherwise bone stock... Also remember any mods over stock will allow the stall speed to go up even higher! Read the Green (RPM) line before the blue (MPH) line comes up!

Typically the TC that comes in the J-Bodies is a 2375 rpm stall. Also note that these are the 245mm core used in many aftermarket Hi-Perf/Racing TCs. Mine was a code FZRB:
F=FWD, TH125C & 440T4 in the B-21 family,
Z=2375 rpm stall,
R=140# RTC Paper Clutch
B=237mm bolt circle TH125C & 440T4.
Although not found in the J's the B-21 family of TCs are rated up to 2795. the '92 and later 125c's came with TC code FA1B and FACB( A=2795 rpm stall, 1=120# clutch and C=cabon filled clutch). These TCs were used behind the 1.6L and 2.0L motors of that time. Get one thats rebuilt w/ an aftermarket woven graphite cltch, fins realigned, furnace brased, balanced and a hardened input shaft and you've got a basic race TC with a 2795 stall rating.
I've owned three auto 4T40E's.. and they all stalled around 2100-2200 rpm. Couldn't ever get it higher than that. I believe it was Rick King who declared the 2200 rpm stall speed was stock... and he was the first to ever switch up to a 3,000 or 3,500 (can't remember that) stall speed. This goes back a few years tho.
