Help with shifter assembly
Wednesday, February 08, 2006 1:29 PM
Ok I installed my new fidanza short throw shifter (loving it) with the exception that I broke one of the 3 little clips that hold the ball of the shifter to the assembly. I need to know where to get the little round piece. I called the dealership and they said I had to replace the entire assembly. Any idea's or do I need to start searching the junk yards. (they suck here)

Screw in a small metal bracket to the top of the circular bracket that will extend down to the shifter mount . make it shaped kind of like a Z except not angled

ok...this time Im more awake and had a couple minutes to show what I mean. After looking at a picture to remind myself what the shifter hold down clip looks like up close i came up with this. Make an L bracket as shown in yellow and screw that bad boy down. It would be best to use tiny machine screws with a washer on the plastic side and a nut rather than just threading directly into plastic. If that doesnt work then you can start crawling junkyards
