Hi Guys
I need to know what kind of 5sp shifter cables I would need for my 96 sunfire because Im getting ready to do the 5sp swap with my 3400 and please note my tranny was from a 89 z24 2.8 muncie aka getrag 5sp.

Not likely.
You can try and make them work... but you'll likely have to do some modification.

You need to use 3rd gen cables. The trans end of the cable is the same between 2nd and 3rd gen Getrags, but you can't attach 2nd gen cables to a 3rd gen shifter and vice versa. Use regular 3rd gen Getrag cables.
would the 3rd gen shift cables will fit onto the 89 z24 getrag tranny then?

Every swap is going to cost a different amount. Its totally based on how much you pay for everything. Please search (or read one of the several threads on this page) before you ask this type of thing.

Nope. I have 2nd gen cable numbers, but no 3rd gen stuff. Call up your dealer and tell them you're looking for cables for a 95 Cavalier 2.4 with the MY5 (Getrag) trans.
