I know someone that has a 02 Cavy with the 2.2 eco and a opel tranny.He says its a very wired combo.
He brought his car in to get a new clutch and well its been at the shop for a month now!!!!.They say they keep ordering one but its the wrong one etc etc and it won't fit.So they have order'ed him a custom one now.
I wanted to know if any one has replaced there clutch in a opel tranny and if so where did you buy yours from and how much did cost.
Does Dynapack are whatever they are called make them.
I really think they are pulling him around plus even before his car went in they wanted $1200 to do the job.
any help would be great.
the case should say F23 on the top from what i remember
and it should be a getrag , which opel has used
but there should not be anything different about it

They were stock (the F23).. so I'd say... it's not rare at all
So your saying there should be know problem as to getting a new clutch and slave bearing in canada.

also what does F23 mean
F23 is the style of the trans , it was cast into the case
and should be on all 00-05 J's
Where abouts would this be cast? Do the Isuzu's from the 2.4, and Ecos take different clutches? I guess that is what this post is getting at.
Reason why I ask, my Z24 doesn't have it's original tranny, and it had a few other goodies done before I bought it. So I'd like to look at this and see just to find out for sure.
the astra's had some different gear ratios, depending on what engine....
I can never find the gear ratios though.....

the isuzu takes a different clutch , than the getrag
it was kinda on the top of the trans were the F23 , near the shift linkage
yea.......when we did a local guys at the dealer his getrag came in an opel box with opel round circle w/ lightning bolt. but its the same as mine
so it shoudl work
