just bought a new shift kit

I just recieved this new shift kit in the mail yesterday its from http://www.drivetrain.com/transgoshiftkits.html and I was asking tech support if it was a easy thing to do they said yes. now I was reading the instructions and it looks more difficult than what meets the eye. more or less what it is, a throttle body valve adjustment?? does that sound familier.. anywho it comes with 3 plates and a few springs and couple other odds and ends. granted I don't know alot about tranny's other than to change the fluid and know the basics about it, but the tech guy said that I can go through the trans pan...... my question is, is it fairly easy to do or should I just throw in the towel early and just take it to a trans shop and have them do it?, and if I take it to a trans shop how long do you think it will take them to do it (so I can roughly guesstimate the price) thanks in advace..

ohh by the way its a 2.2 3speed auto.

Ryan, a friend of mine did it on a Mustang I helped him, it is delicate but possible to do we took out the whole valve body and changed a few springs and plates, there were two or three little metallic balls we had to be careful not to lose them or their place also the springs were of different colors according to where they go it was all in the instruction sheet, we then rinsed everything and put it back. Although my advise is get someone with some experience on cars or transmissions like yours to help. In the mustang it took us some 3 hours.

I will find out what part number that was tonight... but all I know that I would recommend haveing a trans shop install it.. before I went boost, my tranny was find. but when I am at 9psi the shift points are really long and I don't like that.. theoreticly there isn't anything wrong with my tranny. but the kit is supposed to illiminate the "cluck" and improve a bunch of other stuff. it was only 40.00 shipped. I would highly reccommend this. I believe it took about 2 hours to install with a lift. I wasn't going to dare to try to attempt to install this myself... it doesn't look hard to do but Id rather be safe than sorry.

The kit number is SK125, by Trans-Go.

As for a TH125C / 3T40 on boost I would recommend you get your tranny rebuilt with the Red Eagle Master kit 048903HP.This kit comes with the overhaul kit, Friction Module (Hi-Performance clutches and bands) and the Steel Module (Kolene Steel Plates). This will help the life and strength of the tranny. Find more info here: Alto USA.
