just pulled the transmission from my 97 z24 5spd, and going to be replacing it with another 5spd tranny, i wanna put new fluids, all gm dealerships around here are to far to drive to as i dont got a vehicle till my carts fixed, so no gm syncromesh for me....what other transmission fluid can i use?......iv never done the fluids in this car before, also iv got the clutch fluid container in my car, do i need special clutch fluid or is it just the regular tranny fluid?
I used synthetic ATF on my Getrag... I don't know if that's recommended for the Isuzu though.
iv looked everywhere and cant seem to find anything
You can't find transmission fluid?
Try a gas station.
Check the owners manual or ATRA´s bulletins also if you type transmission and it´s model on google you´ll get plenty of info...
no the clutch fluid is not the same as tranny fliud, use brake fluid for the clutch
Egad! Sorry, I mis-read that. The transmission itself uses Syncromesh or ATF... the CLUTCH uses brake fluid. My bad.
haha...i had to read that too.......a synthetic ATF or syncromesh........and brake fluid for the clutch resivoir
