i am wondering if a Vibe Gt 6 speed tranny would work in a 97 2.4 that would sickly insane.
Off the cuff, I'd say it's doubtful without a lot of adapters, modification. The Vibe GT uses a Toyota motor and what I would assume to be a Toyota transmission. But I could be wrong.

Yeah the Vibe GT uses the engine and trans. from the Celica GT-S. So it won't work without heavy (and expensve) modifications.
Sure it'll work... anything will work if you throw enough money and time at it.
Custom bellhousing $1,000 or so
Custom axles $500 or so
Re-engineering the transmission to spin the proper way (that motor spins the other way, IIRC) $10,000 tp $20,000 or so
Custom transmission mounts $1,000 or so
Worth it? Not likely.
maybe the new G6 GTP coupes 6-speed will work
