Hey guys ive got an 01 cavy and its got the getrag tranny and im looking to sell the car for another one. The rattle has become pretty loud that it would scare people off. I heard that saturn tranny oil quiets it a little. True? What else can i do to quiet it for a little bit.
fix the trans or be honest about its condition, karma will bite you in the ass otherwise.
theres nothing wrong with the trans though. its a getrag problem that dealerships say is common.
When I put my spec clutch in, my rattle went away. On the stocker, if you ran your fingers over the springs they would make a nice rattling sound.
yeah, thats what made mine rattle was my clutch fingers, put in a spec stage 3 and no more noises

I put in a Bully clutch, and still have the rattle. I'm not sure it's something you can get rid of, but there's a huge post explaining what different tranny fluids people have tried, and their results.

I agree with kyle carma sucks....be honost. would you like to buy a car and a week later it starts ratteling? if its a common problem explain that to the buyer and it should be alright.

2.5 quarts of b&m synthetic trans fluid will take care of it. Shifts better too. Karma be damned! If karma was real then GM would go out of business of this damned pos transmission they dropped on us.
actually its a nice tranny! rather strong. its just a little special thats all lol..
