This post is aimed at those who work in the auto trans repair industry.
I have this DTC coming up all the time and down here in New Zealand the 4t40e is only used ( to my knowledge) on the Toyota Cavalier. So the Tranny auto repair shops really have no idea of how to fix it. GM here in New Zealand wont have anything to do with the Toyota Cavalier nor Toyota as they are a second hand import out of Japan.
Now approached 4 different shops and have had no joy in finding someone who can fix the problem. Simply they do not seem to know.
Have been doing my own research via google etc and keep coming up with the same result that the DTC is caused by the TCC valve in the valve body sticking. Is this the problem ? If so what needs replacing etc.
Before any one asks. A Toyota Cavalier is a right hand drive Chevy Cavalier rebadged and exported to Japan with a few cosmetic changes.
Thanks

PM or use Kyle 102565's e-mail link to see if he can send you the diagnostic proceedure. I really can't do much for you other than that, I primarilly deal with the TH125C/3T40 in FWD applications.
