Hey, I installed mine at 11:20pm yesterday
and everything went fine, nothing broke or anything. I followed the How-To pointed by red04cavy
:
Short Shifter. It's a great short shifter, I'll have some adjustements to do for the reverse, but it's nothing big when you know how to do it. By this post, I also wanted to thanks Spencer Matter that wrote that great How-To..
And also, If a Transmission FAQ is created, it would be great for this How-To to be in. Good instructions, with descriptions of the pieces, so you won't have to guess what he's talking about. Read, proceed, enjoy....

Glad to hear everything went well with that. I know I love mine
.
Wild Weasel----that is a great write up. i would have referred Da Ghost to yours if I had known it existed. The B&M instructions were very vague.
Anyone have a problem with the shifter hitting the edge trying to go into 1st. Im going to rip it apart and try and adjust it some.
does the shifter and stuff still work with the reverse lock?? i heard the only way to remedy it if it doesnt is to change the trans entirely

You have to modify the shift boot clip so it does not rub.
I think the B&M instructions show this.
they telll you to trim the boot bracket

yes it has reverse lockout, and whoever told you that about the tranny and the lockout is wrong. reverse lockout is controlled entirely on the shifter, the shifter has a little L looking peice on the part you pull up on that hits a peice of plastic on the shifter bracket that prevents you from putting hte car in reverse.....i broke off that little L peice becase i hate the lockout and mine works fine

do you ever notice that the ones who talk the loudest have the least to talk about?
I just took a pair of pliers to both 00-05 JBODY B&M's I've installed and bent the reverse lockout until it snapped off.
Any instuctions on a 95-99 Isuzu with the B&M Shifter? Im wondering how hard it'll be to install.
