you dont need anything else the 3 speed is hydraulic the 4 speed is electronic its just plug and play?
I imagine you'd need the PCM, wiring harness for the engine bay, and different shifter with the extra spot on it... I've never done it tho.

well, my friend has a 3spd (broken) but the dumbass bought a 4spd so i was wondering if it is just plug and play with axle changes etc...please let me know thanks
^^ I dont think you need axle changes if your going from a 3spd auto to a 4spd auto.

When i think of transmission i think of the axles, shifter, all that @!#$...if you don't know what you need i wouldn't suggest doing it yourself.

okay i hate do dig this topic up again but i just read that the final gear ratio on a 3spd auto is 3.18 or something like that and the 4spd is 3.89 i think i would deffinately want that so has anyone done this swap? i know the obvious would be the shifter and tranny (duh) and as said the wiring pcm harness thing.

ya know what. screw i did some more searching and found that it's way more work that it would be worth. i'll just stick with gettting a Torque converter.
