Im going to be doing my tranny mounts with the ones that karo sells and i was wondering if someone knows where there is a how to , to do this??? also if anyone has them are they good and make a differnce?? thanks alot..phil

The poly bushings? Yeah, they're worth it

Jack up the car, put it on jackstands. Use a 2x4 or big piece of wood to support the weight of the engine/tranny on top of the jack... jack up it a LITTLE bit.. not enough to lift the car off the jackstand though. Once the weight is off the trans mounts, you can unbolt them (do it one at a time though). There's three bolts to the tranny case, and one to the bracket on the car. There are two mounts, one at the front and one at the back.

Once you have the mount out, there are four metal tabs on the stock rubber bushing. Bend them so they are straight (instead of around the metal so they stay in the mount) and then push the rubber bushing out. It should come out fairly easily, mine did. Then shove the poly bushing in, with lots of lube, using a bench vise. Make sure it goes all the way in. Once it's in, put the metal pin in the center, and re-install.

Pretty easy. You'll probably want to remove all the wheel and fender liner plastic for ease of access tho.

how long does this take and whats the easy factor on 1-10 one being easy 10 being hard

judging by what Karo says.. ease factor should be minimal.. like 2.. ease meaning complication of the job.. not how hard it is to get a nut off

as for time... just to jack and put it up on stands an what not.. i bet close to a couple of hours.

its pretty easy to do except that me and my friend were doing it in the hot sun in his driveway so it seemed harder than it was just cuz of that. back one is kinda tight though so dont get frustrated like me. i have the lower engine mount and it caused vibes but for some reason with the trans mounts it smoothed it out and i have no vibes anymore, just thought u might want to know. other than that enjoy putting them on with some friends and they are definately a good mod for the price i think. bye

ok i just did my motor mounts today, is it as easy as those or harder? we use air tools here at my house too, heck with the old fashioned way of things lol.
