Which is better interceptor or 5 speed?

From all of my praise and bragging about cavaliers, I've finally talked my dad into getting a project one, He wants to get a 5 speed, I just told him to get a 4T40E and put the interceptor on it, thats what I have on mine and I love it, alot better then a 5 speed if you ask me, but what do you guys think?

whats the project going to be?

if its gonna be a road racer manual is the way to go and if its going to be a 1/4 car then it depends on how much power your going to make

if your planing on putting down some good hp numbers then an auto is better for the strip (not sayin it will hold the power just that its better) if its going to have mild upgrades then a manual

really the biggest thing is matching the tranny to what you want to do

oo, sorry i didnt provide more info, we are both big into drag racing, we're going to strip the car down and take out all the interior and panels and everything and do 1/4 mile, we're also putting together a turbo kit for it

For the 1/4 mile an auto is much better. Its more consistent than a manual.

well wait...

a turbo you say? now your getting into where you need to look at gearing

with a turbo your gonna need taller gears or you'll just get wheelspin

so you'll need to find full ratio lists for both trannys
