Today, i was driving, and all the sudden lost second. 1'st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and rev we're fine, but second just wasnt there. I called a buddy to ask him about the situation, And he said it was the clutch.
I argued, believing if indeed it WAS the clutch, none of the other gear's would engauge. Right after that, I lost first, Yet could still launch in third, and go threw 4th, and 5th, even Rev.
He's saying i can go into 3+, Due to it being a higher gear ratio, and my clutch not being able to handle the lower's. I then Argued if that we're the case, 1st wouldnt have engauged.
After doing some reasearch, im beginning to believe, i either need to replace, or adjust my shifter cable's. i DO park it in gear [Normally first..], And they have never been changed on this car, But, How would i lose 2nd, and not fourth, and reverse. Same going for 1st, and not 3rd, and 5th? Maybe it's just SLIGHTLY getting stuck between N and both gear's? [I dont know how the internal gear's are set-up. i.e. H-| , or 1/2/3/4/5/R and N when not in any of above.]
I dunno, im confused on this whole ordeal, as tranny work isnt my Specialty.
any idea's?
shift fork is bent or all the teeth on that gear are stripped/..... get it cryoed....
