Does the eng and tran have to be the same year?...

For instance, I should be getting a 97 Z engine here soon... Do I have to stick with the 95-99 year tranny? Or can I also go 2000+? I just need to know so I can start looking for the right tranny. Sorry if its a retarted question, but Im giving this a first time shot.. Thanks for any help.

well for the 00-02 2.4 trans you will need the shifter , and cables , the hydralic parts and master cyl , and new frame brackets , to put the getrag in your car

yeah swaping is alot of work

but worth it for some , i think the getrags shift better personally

worth swaping to me would be questionable , now if it came down to trying to find a trans , and all you could find was getrags , and if you could get it complete , id go for it

i also forgot to mention above that youd need the 00-02 flywheel and clutch also

The getrags are 95-99 right? and the Isuzus are 2000 and up? Or Do I have it backwards? I did find a 98 auto tranny I think imma go with.
