98 izuzu tranny, just rebuilt. New 3rd gear was pout it and it still grinds when I downshift to 3rd, even when you do it slowly. Also grinds if you try to shift too fast from second. Any ideas??

Shift cables all the way!! Between them stretching, and they do(mine did till I broke one) and our sloppy shifter setup it makes a huge difference. Side note, I put new shift cables on and within a year or so they stretched out and I need new ones again. I guess they wernt made to handle rough shfiting.
