I was driving/shifting from 1rst gear into 2nd gear and then when I tried to go into 3rd gear, the shifter was free from all of the shift gates and I could move it in any direction without clutch engagement or disengagement. I can still start the care by pushing in the clutch but there is no slot/gate that I can put the shifter into and the shifter is still "free" to move anywhere.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
oh and it somehow came out of second when I stopped rolling and now I can't put it in any gear.

It wasn't shift cables because I think after they fixed the prob at the shop, the shifter developed some slop and now the slop is really bad to where I can barely get it in gear. When it is in gear I can move the shifter back about 1.5" without taking it out of gear.
I still agree with ONE broken shift cable but that means you will stilll have to replace both as they come in pairs. SHIFT CABLES
