hi, i have a 1996 pontiac sunfire...and i want to know if my 2.2 manual transmission will fit on a 1989and up 2.8.... tanx for information...

As far as I know, those 2.8 came with a Getrag Muncie trans...

Aren't the 2.2 use Isuzu?

Asked to the mechanic... that 2.8 engine would eat your Isuzu tranny like popcorn...

my old 89 z24 had a 2.8 and an isuzu tranny...from the factory....it worked just fine
