Qestion about rpm stalls for torque convertes

I have a question, i have a 4t40e trans for my auto ecotec and i was wondering if some one could exsplain what they mean by rpm stall. Because i want a better torque converter but im not trying to murder my trans because its still a daily driver, i just want a little extra power out of it.

if you push the brake pedal down as hard as you can then step on the gas(to the floor) the rpm reached is the stall speed

the converter flash speed is when you take your foot of the brake , then hit the gas and rpm jumps before the car moves

all a stall converter does is raise the rpms before the car moves so its gets in the power band faster. just be carefull to watch tranny temps cause stall converters create more heat.

yeah there less effecient but i doubt whoever is putting one in really cares. someone wouldn't put a high stall converter in a stock j-body unless there planning on doing some serious mods to make it worth it. besides if your crusing down the highway the converter is locked up so its still spinning the engine the same rpms as the orignal converter. just in acceleration the rpms are higher.

Efficiency still matters when racing. Check out www.converter.cc and then customer testimonials, check out the Camaro.
