my friend had a 04 cav with the same transmission as my 97 2.4l. he recently gave it to me but ive had problems with it, my check engine light came on along with the ets lite. since its the same transmission why isnt it working?

ETS light comes on if you have the line pressure set above 50% or so... it's because the ABS module can't compensate for the line pressure set that high.. so it just shuts off the ETS. (that's not bad, in my opinion)

Check engine light shouldn't be coming on though. No idea why...

my CEL came on as well, said something like transmisson solonoid pressure high. Clear the code and turn it town.
