i just took apart my isuzu tranny, the junk yard punched a hole in the bellhousing on the differential to drain the fluid the lazy way , the hole is about 1 inch big, what can i use? i dont have the piece that was punched out, everything else in the tranny looks great, here is what it look like on the out side.

Take it back and tell them to give you a new one... Or ... JB Weld... dont think thatll hold though... Or find a piece of steel and weld it over... #$#( I dunno.. Be creative.
Ask for a new trans, they should replace that. I wouldnt even attempt to fix that hole, Thats like putting a hole in THEIR heads and telling them to fix it, which, if they dont replace that trans, i would do.

ive known a racer that had a piece of a planetery imbed into the belhousing, he just hammed in the piece flush and jb welded it. its still holding and he beats the $%#$ out of his transmissions.
i cant take it back, cause its a tranny i pulled my self, and i got it really cheap, all the trannys in the yard have that hole, when i told them about the hole, the manager got made at his employee and told him to stop doing it, plus he gave me a even better deal.
How would i use the JB weld, should i put a piced of metel inside the tranny, then pour the JB weld in the outside, then when it dries up, i just remove the metal piece, then i will have a new molded piece of JB weld, do you think that could work?
duct tape
I dunno, i dont like the idea at all.... If your really good i would cut a good circle out of the trans, then cut a circle of alluminum that would fit it closely as possible, put it in there and JB weld the hell out of it... sounds complicated but you want it as tight as possible. I wouldnt trust anything if it only takes 5 minutes to fix.

is the casing aluminum? i was thinking of buying some aluminum cord for my wire feed mig welder and welding a small peice in place, then smoothing it out with a grinder. then for added security, smooth it out with JB weld and put a large amount onthe outside of the casing.
