i'm taking apart my isuzu tranny to fix a hole in the housing made by the junkyard.....i got the 5th speed gears off, and the housing, now i'm stuck, i have no idea how to get the rest of the gears off so i can remove the differential......here is a pic i found from VTLoki.....this is the step that im at. i thought that i had to take those 4 brass screws off to remove the the arms that shift gears, but on the picture, they are still on, so i have no clue.

thanks, those pics will help me out when i re-assemble it. but how did you get those gears out, it looks to me that the only thing holding them down are those shafts with the claws on them, how do i get those out? do i have to remove more pins to get them out?? like the one on the 5th gear claw.
these are the shafts im having a problem with, how do they pop out?
Ok. This is what you need to do.
Pull the clip off that im pointing to in this pic.
And drive out the pin on the 1/2 selector fork. That is the pin in the large aluminum fork that is the farthest to the left.
You need to pull the detent bolts/springs/balls out too, so that the shafts can come out. Each shaft has a small pin in it so that only one shaft can move at a time. You will see how they all go once you pull them out.
Hope this helps.
