Did the 97 cavaliers come w. 2 different transmission options? I was looking through service bullitins and there are 2 choices. Can anyone help me out, or point me in the direction to find it?
2.4L, 4 speed auto. I dropped the pan, added 4 qts, but did I add enough, or too little?

Ban low-performance cars, not high-performance ones.

False.
Isuzu and Getrag yes, but...
1996-1999 were all Isuzu regardless of engine
2000+ were all Getrag regardless of engine
You have the 4T40E.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
now will the Getrag fit in a 97 2.4 l DOHC cavalier?
what else would i need to do the swap from the automatic?
Service manuals offline say to add 6.9 for dropping the pan on that tranny. That's the info I needed---Thanks Shifted!

Also, there is 2 getrag transmissions after 2002. One in the 2200, and one in the eco-tec. They both are NOT interchangable. Not sure about autos, or a manual transmission in a 2.4L.
My question is, do 2000+ 2.4L use the same manual tranny as a 2200?
so will the isuzus from the 2.2 fit behind a 2.4? I need to know ASAP, b/c I need to fix this piece asap! Thanks guys!

No, the bellhousings are different, some of the guts can be swapped tho.
