i bought a wheel bearing hub for my 99 Z24, it came with a Metel ring with a seal, i had no idea what it was for and didnt see one of my car, so i thought i didnt need it or thought it was for another model. What is it for and do i need it.

PS: I changed my passenger hub because my bearing was meaking noise when i turn left, i changed the hub and it still make the noise, what could it be?

It goes where the CV meets the spindle, on the back side. The stock one doesn't have that seal, which is why it fails so easily.
