i need a shifter for my auto to 5 speed isuzu swap, i went to the yard and found a shifter from a 95 Sunfire 2.3 and a 98 sunfire 2.4. i heard they both have the isuzu tranny, but the shifter is different, it looks like they both might fit, but i want to be sure. 1 has a spring on it (98 sunfire) and the 95 doesn't. here are the pics....

95-97 and 98-99 look diff but they both do the same thing. Either or will work for you....
What does the spring do on the 98 shifter?
I guess it makes it stiffer? Not sure.. but I know both will work.
what would be the better choice?
