Will a clutch from a 99 Z24 (2.4) fit on a 2001 Z24(2.4)??? I was wondering b/c I need a clutch and if this one will fit, I won't have to order one... I can pick one up in town...

If you use a clutch kit from a 99 then you also ned the flywheel.

yup, cant mix and match clutches and flywheels. They both have to be from the same year.

Are the number of splines on the shaft the same on both transmissions?

# of splines is the same, but 99 has the stepped flywheel I believe.
95-99 isuzu trannies have the stepped flywheel whereas the getrag is more of a flat looking flywheel.
# Splines is the same between both trannies.

As far as i know you can use 99 on 2000 two different styles. I may be wrong.
99 was the isuzu tranny
2000 was Getrag tranny

flywheel and clutch are interchangeable between the isuzu and getrag only as a unit. You can use an isuzu flywheel and clutch on a getrag and vise versa. HOWEVER you cannot use a getrag flywheel with an isuzu clutch, and vise versa.

This is true. I am using a getrag flywheel and clutch setup in my 99 with now problems
