fuel pump

i contacted auto performance engineering for the walbro 255 pump and told him it was for a j body and this is what he had to say:

The GSS307 won't work with the LT1 install kit.

Your vehicle contains what Walbro calls a “module”. Manufacturers started using modules instead of simple hanger assemblies, because that would enable them to use plastic tanks that wouldn’t require baffles. Walbro does not make an upgrade fuel pump for your vehicle’s module.
You may have seen/heard stories from folks that claim to have stuffed Walbro pumps into their modules. That practice is not endorsed by Walbro because the original pump that in your module has two outlets: one to keep that module full, and one to feed the fuel rail. The performance Walbro pumps that we sell only have one outlet. That means you run the risk of sucking that module dry. You may have heard that folks who stuff Walbro pumps in their tanks have to run more than 1/3 tank of fuel or so, to avoid fueling issues.
In your case, what we recommend is a voltage booster like Kenne-Bell’s boost-a-pump or the MSD voltage booster. If you need more fuel than that and still want to stuff a Walbro pump in your module, you’ll probably want to use our FPG003 kit [at the top of the Applications page of our WWW site] along with the flex hose listed on the Install Parts page of our site. That won’t be a direct drop-in solution, but it’ll be the closest thing you’ll find.

i am now even more confused then ever for what fuel pump i need

i have been told the gss307,F20000169,fpg003 can someone please help me out

i forgot the walbro one i got.

all i know is that it works. only problem is that it wont let the fuel rail hold pressure, so it takes a little bit more cranks to start up. And some people had issues when it got super hot outside and the car ran like crap. It happened to me once and since then i cleaned the bottom of the tank and painted it with some high temp resistant black paint from a hardware store. Plus my tank was pretty beat up and scuffed up.

i just fill up at a 1/2 tank. sorta annoying at times, but it is cheaper for me(running 93octane) and plus i can get 250-300 miles till it hits that half way mark.

anything was better then the stock pump.

just do some searching, you will find some good info and how to's . some people have fuel cut under a 1/4 tank, some dont. some people cut their fuel cup some dont( i didnt with the walbro).
