I was wondering if it is safe to boost with 125,000 miles on a 95 Chevy Cavalier? Can I please get some reasona of why not and sure go aheads. I dont plan on running it hard at all. This will be my daily driven car. Or should I just invest in another engine, but the idea is to have my car up and running by the summer.
Thanks
I wouldn't take the chance...If I were you, I'd find a different motor with less miles at a scrap yard and build it up and go from there.
i have a 2200 boosted for about 2 months and it has almost 100,000miles on it and im runnin 10-15psi easily. stock internals
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
my 2200 in my sunfire has 106,000 miles on it running 10psi daily. Just gotta make sure you have a good tune.
140k miles on my first motor , would have never blown if i had went with an extra injector system earlier. Just make sure to compression test, change the head gasket and clean/polish the tops of your pistons and combustion chamber to remove carbon buildup that can cause hot spots. trust me carbon can kick your a$$.
bad idea dood.

DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
Cavidemon, if you dont mind let me know if ur using a timing retard or just a very rich afr. oh and one more thing if you are , or have relied on the knock sensor for timing thanks.
im prety much relying on the stock ignition except for the msd coils i just put in. i have checked my plugs at least once a day and they look perfect no discoloration at all. just a little soot on the metal part of the plug, not the electrode or the ceramic. havent even dynoed it. mainly because the clutch starts to slip around 12lbs. and as of the air/fuel ratio, i cant realy tell u exactly what it is because i street tuned it with a narrowband gauge, but i can say it might b around 11-10.5. in the process of gettin clutch put in and wideband, then dyno. A friend of mine (paco) as everyone knos him as, is useing stock ignition also.
i only hit 15psi in third and up. 1st=6lbs, 2nd=11lbs, 3rd4th5th=15lbs.
by the way my name is Paul, if u need any info dont hesitate.

lee check ur in box

There is a higher risk of problems but tuning is key. Also, how you maintained the car before and what kind of miles they are (mostly city or mostly highway) might play into effect.
Anything is possible.

Your block itself is durable. But when the motor goes, I'm going to tell you that I told you that what you are doing isn't bright.
