Well after reading a previous post made by Eliot I believe, I saw he had a belt that was .2" smaller than the belt you get with the kit.
So I figured, I have the 2.6 pulley on so that is .2" smaller why not try this belt to see if it works....and.....well....IT DOES!
It's a Gates Micro-V K050720
So for any of you that were wondering if it would work....It does....
Hope this answers some peeps questions about the belt

cool thanks for the info i was wondering the same but haven't put the 2.6 pully on yet .
have you noticed any slipage when shifting fast at wide open ?
i think this weekend ill pull my pulley off so i can see what type of pulley type it is so i can finially get a smaller 1
Nope no slipping......actually if anything....it seems to fit better than the one that comes with the kit.....before my belt was up against the s/c pulley like it was too wide.....now its perfectly in the center....not rubbing on either side.

Where did you end up buying it and how much. I have the gator back belt with the 2.7, could you feel the difference with the 2.6?

My buddy ordered the belt for me at his shop so it only cost me 23 bucks
Chris- Could I feel the difference with the 2.6 pulley? Hell yes.

I'll have to see if I can find that belt around here, in the frozen north of Canada. It's almost time to replace the belt I got in the kit, it's rather weathered and worn.

Great review, friend. I am very happy sharing info with you. I think that with this belt and a smaller than the stock pulley, you get better belt grip.
Thanks,

ELIOT. Now.....boosted.
at what size pulley do you need to shorten the belt?
thinking of the diameter vs. circumference change when you go to a smaller pulley

Any suggestions as to who might carry these? I have called around some different stores, and almost all seem to not have the Gates' belts listed. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Well, I got it this afternoon at Napa. I got the Gates Micro-V K050720, and it was around $29. I tell you what though, it was a PITA to get on. Seems like my tensioner is maxed out. Is that about right for yours too? On another note though, car seems to hit boost faster, and it pulls better too. Great find!!!!!!!!
