Hey,whats up guys.
I just got the first piece for my turbo project.Its a turbo xs type H- rfl bov.Who has this bov on there car,and how do you like it?I got it from ebay brand new for $125.Im still waiting on my manifold and my super 60.Heres a pic of the bov.

Yes, it is even loud when I'm not in boost. The turbo has boost built but there is still vacuum holding the BOV open, so the boost gets let out. When I'm driving down the road its a loud "shhhooooooshhhh" noise. The car shifts for me, so I don't hear my BOV during shifts

Thanks shifted.My vortech bov would let out a nice whistle when not in boost.

sounds good but it's the worse BOV performance wise in the world. If you don't believe me try doing a boost leak test w one on your system. They leak bad.
Is the Greddy Type S/RS any better? It's what I'm looking at getting right now. Sound clip is AMAZING, also.
from what i hear the HKS SSQ is the best... as it holds the valves tighter with more boost......

how is the sound from the 1g dsm bov compared to the rfl and the type s from greddy? just wondering cuz i know the dsm bov is way cheaper than both those other bov's
IMHO, the type-s sounds very 'feminine', and the rfl is, well, too loud. I'm just not a showy person, and the DSM valve sounds exactly like it should. Not to mention the RFL not being of the highest quality.

I run a turbo XS RFL on my Turbo 2.0. I like it a lot, loud but not not whistly or stupid like so many others.. it's just a powerful blast of air. I didn't know they changed the styling till I saw yours and looked at the website again.. I thought you had a fake lol
I used to have an RFL on my turbo sunbird as well. I really liked the sound but it did leak under boost. Now I have an HKS SSQV on it.
Even while you aren't in boost, the turbo is still spooling. Vacuum from the engine cancels out the boost that turbo is making. Let off the throttle and you still get a high manifold vacuum to open the BOV and lose the vacuum that was cancelling out the boost... letting all of it out the BOV..... So yes.. there is sound still shifting while not in boost.

Ok cool,thanks for your feedback guys.At what boost level did it start leaking under boost?How many washers did you have in it?I plan on running low boost,so hopefully it will be fine.

After i ordered it,i was looking at pictures of it on different websites and it looked different.The ones i was looking at had black rings on the top of it.I thought i ordered the wrong one too at first,lol,but i guess this is the redesigned one.I would be pissed off if i bought a bootleg one by accident.
