Rapid fire #5 spark plugs.
Thursday, January 05, 2006 4:12 PM
I was looking for a set of these to replace the ones in my car/have a new set on hand and I e mailed AC delco and they told me this.

"We appreciate your inquiry regarding the Rapidfire spark plug.
We searched our system and found the following information. The old can be
identified by a copper star or ridged center electrode. The NEW platinum
style will have a tiny platinum pad on the center electrode. However, most
of the old style should be gone by now."

here is the part gm # for them that I gave them.
25164643

I emailed them back asking if they can locate some of the old ones for me. If not I will have to run a different spark plug. Damn it, these worked out great.

I will post back with any updates I get from AC delco.

Look at the box.

If it has the Gold boarders, its Platinum.
If it has the Silver boarders, its NON-Platinum.

I have a couple boxes of the Platinum ones, I can post a pic of. They dont have the part number on them, just a UPC and the #5.

i am talking to killerquad(jake) and he works at a chevy parts counter.

he is currently running a ac delco plug that is 2 steps colder . We all know he is running gobs of nitrous with great results. He has some chart with the part #'s and heat ranges , but they were at his house.

so when i get that # i will post it.
