Hi, can someone answer Why is it that GM Supercharger is for 99´and up? or is 00 and up ? not sure now.My question is It wont fit a 96 or 97 ? Also it´s advertised for manuals only, the auto transmission won´t stand it? I liked very much the GM Hi Performance information on the Supercharger but was dissapointed because my Z is a 96 even though I droped a new 7/8 last year with a tag that says´99 guess is it was made or assembled in 1999 but still is the same 96 model. Thanks in advance.
keep searching bud. it's been fit on pre-00 cars with work.

It can be done. The only way I can imagine it works with the gm reprogram is switching everything to 00+ computer, sensors, egr stuff.....
to each man his own way.
Sorry...

clear your egr code when you start your car
runs like stock
i been doing that for 2 years now.
Ummm, seems easy as Jake post it.
ya but you dont need to clear egr for a 1999 because there is no egr valve. I got a question on this topic by the way...wouldnt it make more sense to go to a yard and pull off an ecu from a 2000+ if you can find one....I mean what could possibly happen if you stuck a 2000 ecu on a 1999? Whatelse would you have to chage?
not as easy as you think.
going from a 96 to a 00' computer means you will have to rewire the whole car.
99- 00 it has been done b4. some stuff you need to change is the BCM, fuel tank sendor, some other crap.
lot's of work.
best option is to get a 2000+ z24, they are not that expensive.

eh sounds like a hassle lol. i'll just get my egr sim put on and if it doesn't work, i can live with a code.

My set up was,
EGR Block off
2K Starter
GM SC plugs
LT1 AFPR
Ran great for a couple thousand miles, started screwing around with the fuel and ran lean and spun a bearing. Now I have a cartech FMU, and SAFC2, and 255 lph fuel pump.

not really a hassle. i couldnt live with the code, the fan was always running. I am pretty sure once the check engine light is lite up it will throw the car into open loop and dump more fuel in and not having it run at its normal settings. this way i think with the code being cleared the car thinks everything is normal.
i clear it and it stays off till i shut off/start up the car again. i drove 150miles at one time and the code didnt come back on. works for me.
i tried every trick you can think of to trick the car into thinking it had a EGR, nothing worked. so far my best results have egr plug dangling there and just clear the code.
from driving around with the EGR simulator hooked up, ya it got rid of the code but the car randomly stalled, hestation when taking off, and just felt slow. it was the lose of map sensor voltage from the simulator that caused that.
so i removed it, cleared the code, car drives like a stock z24. 110% happy.
