turbo kit install: mounting prob
Monday, December 26, 2005 10:12 AM
I am about done with my install of my turbo kit on my 03auto cav. I am having a problem though with the intake pipe. I am using most of the hahn kit but when it comes off the turbo the trans shift cable is in the way. I was thinking of mounting it some other place (lower) Anyways i know the kit is not for an auto but im working on it. Any ideas would be great... Ill try and get a pic soon. THANKS!

the Hahn kit is designed not to work with automatic transmissions. so what you do, is you modify / make a new piece of charge piping for that area.

yea i know its not for the auto. I have no way to run the intake off the turbo because the mount for the cable is right next to the intake of the turbo. I was thinking of moving the mount lower or somthing for the shifter cable but im not sure if that will screw anything up.

hmmmm.....maybe this is why you listen to companies when they list applications for their products. companies like Hahn dont just say its for manual trans cars only for no reason. lets think a little man.

I think he made it pretty clear in his first post that he knows this kit isn't for his exact application.

90 degree elbow straight up off the turbo inlet with a small cone filter on it........... just a suggestion.

yea i was working on an elbow to fit in place for some time now but it looks like the mount is just to close to the intake of the turbo... Ill keep working on it and see if i can make it work. I made a dent in the pipe to try and make some room but that did nothing. I am now looking at moving the whole mount down one inch. I just cant tell if its a ball and joint setup, that way i can bend the rod to an angle. THANKS for the idea tho.
