Hi guys...

well, i finally started ordering my parts for my DIY turbo install. Right now, I'm at a fork in the road. Which way to go.......

I think the quickies way to go, would be to get an FMU, Which one? The Vortech Super FMU seems interesting. What do you guys think?

The other option according to recent post is MEGA SQUIRT, I believe this will be my next winter project.

I own a 2002 sunfire OBII computer with the 2200 engine. I just ordered a FMIC and a T3/T4B. My goal this year is about 200 horse stock..... with a vision of 350 - 400 horses, with engine modifications.

Any help with FMU is greatly appreciated.....

later guys....

If you're looking for a good FMU then I'd suggest Cartech's adjustable FMU. As for Megasquirt, the FMU and MS are completely different ways to control fuel so its up to you. An FMU is a more basic approach that many use but MS takes alot of patience and time. If you have a laptop and would like alot of control over your fuel system, bypassing your ECU completely, then go with MS. It all depends on how much money you have and how much time you're planning to invest. Since you want to reach big numbers I'd go with MS to have more tuning options.

It's VERY easy to adjust ....... you can pretty much tell us your set up and we could give you a basic tuning amount to turn the screw so you could limp drive it to the dyno without blowing up !

very good product. I wish I kept mine. I'm an idiot!

Get a base tune setup right with your FMU (I hope you have a wideband installed). And then invest in the Megasquirt (buy a complete kit from DIY Auto Tune and the wideband if you haven't already. And a laptop if you don't have one of those also.

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

Hi,

thanks guys.....

Yes that was my original idea......

base tune with FMU
then get Megasquirt

OK.... so where would be a good place to get a cartech or other good fmu (reasonable price)
As for tuning my car, I'm looking into an Inovative LM2 (LM1 and rpm adapter)

Started studying Megasquirt.... this will be a challenge, but hell, it's all fun.....

Check out the Cartech's on eBay, that's where I would first look. I forgot the part number but maybe someone could help out with that one.

As for the wideband kit, check out the LMA-2 kit (LM-1 kit with RPM Converter) at www.carcustoms.net they have free shipping. Email Karo through the site's contact email, he can give you a better price than he can advertise on the website.

I was bored and I think I found the part number for the Cartech FMU. Its CAR-2025 and I got it off Cartech's website.
