I am taking my engine apart anyway to replace head gasket, what should i up grade to handle mid range boost. CAMS? RODS? RINGS? POLISHED HEAD? Any info would be great.
Thanks
i am shooting for mid range boost. aprox 15 to 18 psi . Going with forged pistons, rods, clevite bearings main and rod, arp head studs, turbo tech racing race ported head, secret cams, 2.3 oil pump swap, ho intake mani, etc... The only weak point is my trans but I have the swap out down to about 5 hours. I only paid 128 bucs for the last 4t40e trans I got and it only had 20k on it. I figure if I get 3 months out of a trans I am doing good . Good luck and if you need any parts go with turbotechracing. Best prices and quick and good customer service..

Well first what motor you runing? I would do a good P&P with stainless valves and stock springs and retainers. If your not uping the redline then theres no need for anything more
Other than that cams and rockers if your 2.2. A good head gasket and maybe some studs. Then i would save the rest for fuel, ignition, and tuning.

As far as "handling" the power, the parts that are most effected is your bottom end, most specifically your bearings, rods & pistons.
Now, if you are going to do a proper turbo motor build up, I would upgrade the cylinder head as well by replacing the head internals and do a nice (probably 5 angle) port and polish as well.
Also, what do you mean by "mid range boost"?

he means 30 psi dood DUH.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
MID RANGE FOR ME MEANS, 15 TO 25 PSI. ALL OF MY SRT BUDDIES ARE RUNNING 30 TO 38 PSI AND DAMNIT I NEED TO KEEP UP.
WHAT ARE "GOOD HEAD GASKET'S FOR THE 2.4L TWIN CAM" ?
AND WHERE DO I FIND PORTED & POLISHED HEADS FOR THE ENGINE?

I think you need to do more research on how compression effects your power output. Those guys who are running 15-25 PSI can because they are running a decent size turbo (I believe close to the 16G) and their compression is I believe in the area of 8.1:1 compression. Now, your 2.4 motor runs around 9.5:1 compression stock...you wouldn't need to run as high of PSI (say for example if using the same turbo) as someone with an SRT-4.
Now there is an issue of detonation that plays into effect as well when it comes to running high amounts of boost on a higher compression but that's another topic.
You can buy a Copper Head Gasket from JBP or order a Multi-Layer Steel Head Gasket from Cometic.

thanks buddy, you are a big help.
I was looking at the JBP site that you sent, and what set of pistons would you advise. more so what compression ratio would you suggest?
thanks again!

It's no problem.
Wiseco 9:1 compression pistons would be a good choice. You can find them for a good price and free shipping at Car Customs.
