Boost and the upper/lower engine mounts...
Monday, December 12, 2005 3:59 PM
Dear Jbody enthusiasts,

I will be boosting my 04 Eco in March, and in the meantime, I was thinking a bout a few upgrades in the meantime.

I know a lot of people run the upper/lower poly engine mounts -- the additional interior resonance irritates the $hit out of me, but I am thinking they might be a necessity for the Hahn Stage 3 kit. Is there anythone here who runs only the lower mount? (I can only imagine some peoples' responses to this inquiry -- "You pussy, just deal with it..." I just don't want my dash vibrating to pieces).

What do you think?

I had the poly trans mounts for a while, and the centers wallowed out, so If I do indeed buy the upper/lower mounts, I would be running them with stock trans mounts.

Thanks...

I have a 2.4L... so take this for what it's worth..

I only have the lower mount at the moment. I drove across the country with just it... 6,000 miles. No problems here.

Mind you.. I have a convertible. Cowl shake pwns me.

I have both ....... my dash shakes more then I do when I'm done in the washroom ......

also it helped a lot with the fact that the turbo is like 1/2" away from the front of the engine bay .......... so the motor not being able to move has helped a lot
