Absolutely! I'm looking to do that by February/March '06 with my 99 LD9. There are a TON of LD9 folks on here who are turbo, and thye ahve had sweet results.
There are a couple ways to do it, and it's up to you. If you have good tools, lots of time, and lots of patience, you can piece together your own turbo setup. There is a sticky about that in the Boost Forum, with basically everything you need to get to custom-make your own turbo system. Read that Sticky!! It's written by a very intelligent ORG member, and appears to be very thorough.
You other option is to buy a turbo kit. Many people will choose NOT to buy a kit for several reasons, one of which being that it's a helluva lot cheaper. But that route is not for everyone, many will agree with that. Here are some links if you want a pre-made turbo kit.

There are a couple supercharger options out there for us LD9's as well. there's a GM Supercharger for 2000-2002 LD9's, but they can be adapted to work with pre-2000 ones as well, but it does take some work, as many who have done this will say. Also a popular choice
www.rsmracing.com. They have a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 supercharger for the LD9, but beware, as they are REALLY expensive. So much so that they don't list the Stage 2 price on their site!
Point is, you do have many options. The whole matter is not something I would tell you to commit to if you're not gonna do it right, though. I will soon be learning about that first-hand

I have one ... I was thinking about trying it out .....

I don't have it installed on my car yet (unfortunately). January, my Turbo setup should be installed
I heard it on a Honda and it's more of a PSSSH sound.

i have the dsm bov on mine. i love it. its kinda loud even at only 7 psi. it does the psssh sound. works great
