so i am about to start buying stuff for my turbo project and well i looked in my wallet and had like 40 dollars to begin with and i was looking on blaast performance adn came acaross this blow off valve. its a bosch bov and its 24.99 minus shipping. i was wondering if anyone had used this before and their opinions on it, i like that its affordable for right now that i am just starting my turbo kit, i also like that is says "VERY LOUD" so im hoping it is. oh and if anyone can point me in a good direction to buy a t3 turbo for a good price yet good quality that would be awesome thanks.

Ummmmm.... I wouldn't start your turbo kit by buying a blow-off valve. I also wouldn't start your turbo kit by buying the cheapest thing you could find. If you want a loud and solid BOV, go with a 1g DSM blow-off valve. You can sometimes find them at junkyards or on ebay for very cheap and they ARE reliable.. not made out of plastic.
Now if you are starting your kit with the noise-maker, you may want to reevaluate the decision. Are you looking to get some speed, extra show points or just the cool "psshhhhhh" sound when you let off the throttle?
If you do want some speed and a "very loud" ball bearing turbo, I sell used R32 and R33 skyline turbos for pretty cheap. Hit me up about that (ie: not on the forums.)
You can also find some pretty good deals on new turbos from cheapturbos.com or a local junk yard.

Buy the big stuff first like manifold, Turbo, Paying for a custom Downpipe if you cant make one yourself, Piping, oil line kit, etc. If you cant weld your better off buying a complete kit.

well i was gonna buy the big stuff its just that since this blow off valve came with the first cavalier connection kits i thought it might be good and i though since i had a little money i might as well start with somthing because i might not have enough money for somthing big like a turbo or manifold for like another month so i thought maybe i should start buying stuff that i can afford right now. oh and minion what style turbos come off the r32 and r33 skylines. (ill email u later might pick one up off u )

ya START WITH THE MANIFOLD..... if you buy a turbo .... your then forced to buy a manifold with the corresponding connection ... get the mani ......... figure out your goals.... (i.e. boost goals, hp #)....... do some research .... find a good turbo for those numbers ..................

get some piping .... INTERCOOLER .. FOR SURE DON"T CHEAP OUT ON IT .......

get a BOV ... 1g dsm is sweet and VERY reliable for low boost .....
and it's metal... haha .....

get some injectors... an FMU, an AFPR and some oil lines....... get a downpipe made... and your pretty much done ......... maybe some plugs and wires.......

DO IT RIGHT .... or your motor will make you pay ... sorry $40.00 won't get a new motor....

DON"T CHEAP ON THIS ...... if you cheap on it .... expect cheap results...

if you don't have the money right now .... DON"T buy parts....... save .... then when you have the money
go out on a SPENDING spree of good parts.... your turbo cavi will be much happier in the long run !

Get this first, no get that first, no wait get this first.........................

Get a good understanding of how a motor and turbo system works first, then research each and every part you think you'll need for you car and then start buying your parts.

The RFL was designed for higher boost applications. Those Bosch bypass valves are not the greatest. Yes they are cheap and they... "work" but here are the problems. We originally used one on our turbo honda sedan and we had trouble with it literally popping out of the charge piping every time it hit boost. Because it is rubber or the like, you can't weld it, it has to go into a fitting in your piping or in a coupler. Not the best idea honestly. You can get a higher quality 1g DSM BOV for about the same price, weld it in, and it's capable of venting up to 26 psi when crushed. It's a high quality, loud, good sounding BOV that will work just fine. Go with that.

oh and by the way, the BOV looks like this below (except you unbolt the flange from the piping and just weld it onto your charge piping.

the ebay auction for this BOV is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/dsm-1g-bov-blow-off-valve-eclipse-talon-laser_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitemZ8020893499QQrdZ1

The RFL is designed for higher boosting aplications but you can adjust the spring and it will be perfectly fine....

Really? I found them pretty easy. That's actually where I found my 1sg DSM BOV...the DSM classifieds is usually cluttered with them for sale.
