im just curios . ive got a garrett t-3 turbo from cav conn its .42 / .48 and im hoping to get 15-18 psi out of it . is this maxing this turbo? would a t3 super 60 be better? or would it cause to much lag ? i think a 73/t4 would be to big.any opinions

yes you could get that much boost out of that .42/.48 but i wouldn't recommend it. you'd be heat soaking it like a mofo. you'd also be nearing it's non-efficiency range. The T3 Super 60 is a .60 / .48 and honestly, that would be your best bet. I'll put it to you this way. On our turbo Hondoa sedan we ran a Garrett GT1752 which is a T3, .54/.48 and we were at full spool by 2500. And that was a bone stock 1.6 SOHC. And yes, for a stock motor a T3/T4 is too big.

is it a 2200? and a t3/t4 is not to big i have seen d15's spool them in first gear, if anything a t3/t04e 50-60 trim is best like like spot said, but the way you need to think is not boost but power.. boost has absalutley nothing to do with power its all tuning and airflow.. small turbo will make power at a low rpm do to fast spooling but inturn kill your your overall potenchial for alot of power.. so this is what you need to do before you get a diff turbo is your goals, do you want a quick car that will spool fast and make a decent amount of power? or do you want fast slightly later spool (4k-up) and make more power on the same psi? think about this then make your choice..

for that pressure and that motor (assuming it's stock), a super60 would be your best bet. If you want a tad more potential, you could go with a 40 or 46 trim T04E compressor.

you need to remember a lower cfm turbo will rip pretty good.

your heads flow like dump and cant process all the cfm a larger turbo will push anyhow.
