Alright, I already posted this in my regional forum, but its dead in there. I need a little help here. I'm planning on getting the Hahn kit for my 04 Ecotec in the near future, but I want a shop with experience with Hahn kits to install it for me, basically meaning I don't want to be the first Ecotec getting the Hahn kit in their shop. The bad part is that I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and there aren't a ton of shops that are likely to have Hahn experience. Does anyone know of a shop in Albuquerque who fits this description? Thanks in advance.
liek i said you will proally be the first one in albequerque to have one.....proally first one in new mexico/arizona maybe even colorado.
But if you wanna drive to phoenix we can help you, we have plenty of experience with turbo kits.
if nto why dont you install it......shouldnt be ot hard, if your at all mechanicaly combined.,
actually we have one hahn kit in az
Chad's car.
I'm sure it would be easy to install. If you arent up for it like snowman said drive on over to az, we'll help u out.
"Growing old is mandatory. Growing up? Definitely optional."
eh, just do it yourself.....its not that hard. i pieced together my own kit and when i called up to different shops in alb (i was living in alamogordo at the time, in clovis now) they wanted way too much to do the install. i ended up doing everything myself and saved the money. good luck finding anyone to do it at a reasonable price and with experience w/ the kit.
oh yea we do have chads car....hmm.....if ya wanna swing over come on.
installs we have done.
(1) - 2.4 supercharger (GM)
(1) - 2.4 supercharger (RSM)
(2) - 2.2 eco turbo Turbo kits custom
(1) - 2.4 Turbo
so we have quite a bit of experience and a pretty good size shop to work on it.
we built dans from scratch in 48 hours.....we shoudl have yours done in a day.
its only about 400 miles.....so about a 6 hour drive. its not that bad i use to drive to farmington n,m and that took liek 6 hours.plus you get to break your kit in on the way home. And the mountainy roads will be fun
Just install yourself then have it tuned on a dyno
Trust me not to hard to do
i would make the drive over to them guys who posted here and have them install it.
they have done boosted cars before, they arnt some shop out to get $.
If i had a choice i would make the drive to have some fellow J body guys work on my car if i wasnt comfortable doing the modifacation.
good luck.
I would love to install the kit myself, but I don't really trust myseft to install a turbo kit. I just don't have that much experience. The problem to driving to AZ would mean I would have to take time off of work for however long it would take to get the install done. I would also have to find a place to stay, food, and gas for the 8-9 hour drive. If I still can't find anyone else in Albuquerque, I may just go to AZ, but I want to explore all of my options first. Thanks for all the responces.
JUST DRIVE .... they said a DAY
so go there leave your place at like 2 in the morning
get there when they are waking up ..... get started early....
maybe take 3 days off so you can enjoy your car when you get home ....
if it's a kit.... NO fabing will have to be done a quick simple install.... they came give you some tuning before you go too because they know J-bodys.....
DRiVE THERE .....
if your really worried about food and gas your not ready finacially to go turbo..........
do you realize when my 2200 went turbo it was $50.00 cdn every 3 days for gas.......

120 dollars for gas...(thats being conservative) 4 fill ups @ 30ish a fill up.
50 dollars ish for a room.
Just leave real early sat morning. like they said 2am or 3 am ish. you get here and we can get it knocked out in a couple hours a day max.. You can be done By like 6-7pm and stay the night or you can take the trek back.
Its up to you man. BTW we are'nt gonna charge you anything we offered to help a fellow jbo-er out. The only thing we ask is a you buy us lunch....or buy the drinks. In The long run it will be cheaper than havin somoene install it.
The hardest part, and it isn't hard, is tapping the oil pan. Hell I could prob tap my spare pan before you even got out here and would just have to swap them. Have the kit on and just need an overnight stay. The oil pan uses a goop for the sealer and that needs to dry overnight before you can add oil back in.
It's an easy install, any capable shop of doing turbo installs can do it.
any shop that knows how to do turbo kits can install it... its a strait foward COMPLETE kit.
if your really worried about having to pay for a room....why not just sleep in the car? when i was thinking about having a shop do mine (mine is a custom kit though) snowman offered to help me. all it would have costed me was a case of beer or 2
Thanks for all the help guys. Snowman, after christmas I'll get back in touch with you and set up the trip out there. Thanks again for all the help.

Not a problem man hit me up and we will work it out.
I can vouch for the work snowman and the other AZJBO members can do. I have the 2.4 RSM kit and we knocked it out in a pretty reasonable amount of time, and it was HOT outside.... like 110.. so that slowed things down a bit, but I suggest coming out here.
Just don't forget teflon tape on your oil fittings!
