Ok now that I am a premium member the thread wont houdini. Plates are still waiting to get done, it is a holiday weekend so the shop is closed.
But other new and exciting info are Throttle bodies. I have another machinist that I am in the process fo workin a deal to make ported T/b's
. Also to go along with that I can have them powdercoated any color in the eastwood catalog. Prob lookin around $150-$200, depends on machinists cost. Powdercoated will be another $50.

not really... more flow more power... so why not... he doesnt have to have 400+hp... its just making his system flow better/more

my buddy is runnin a 90mm tb on his svt lightning, i know its a different car, but he's pushing 350+ with it, and he wants bigger still.....its just flows better......but like the exhaust the smallest part is your biggest opening.....so if you gonna do that make sure its all the way through lol....

Uh no. You'll only make as much power as the most restrictive thing before the air hits the cylinders. By adding a larger throttle body you're just changing your tip in acceleration etc. You're not increasing power, and you may disrupt the air stream worse. 62 mm is 2.5" which is pretty standard for charge pipes and can support several hundred horsepower easy.

UH ya so bigger is better..... my intake manifold is 70 mm .... at the collector.... I'm running a 62mm tb as well...............with ONLY 2" change piping ... IT"S FORCED INDUCTION ....... forcing it through small charge pipes to create virtually no lag and still get the flow once it hits the tb .... come on ... bigger is so better in this case with tb's and FORCED INDUCTION

OMG dude you are such a ricer. Please. Stop posting your opinion. You obviously need to shut up and start reading if you believe anything you said.
By running SMALLER charge pipes then your throttle body you are RESTRICTING your horsepower level considerablly. It's FAR better to have a small throttle body and large charge pipes then small charge pipes and big throttle body? Why?
Do this simple expirerement and see what's easier to breathe thru. Take a small diameter tube like a straw, and cut it to only 1/2" long. Try to blow thru it. Now try the same thing, only tak ea large diameter tube, like a hose, but make it really long, and blow thru it.
The SMALLER tube that's shorter is a lot easier to blow thru then a BIG hose that's long. Durrrrrrr.
The LENGTH becomes a restriction. You want large charge pipes and a throttle body that's at least of equal size ideally. Again the SMALLEST thing in your system is your restriction and also the biggest LENGTH.
And lastly, you're not doing ANYTHING to your lag by running smaller charge pipes. If anything maybe 100 rpm's sooner, the amount of time it takes your turbo to fill that extra volume, which is NOTHING. But you are forcing it to work harder to move the air - which heats it up and reduces efficency.
You need to kick whoever fed you full of this junk, in the balls.

Bigger is not always better. Only people with size issues say that.
Every time the throttle body gets larger, the sensiotivity of the trottle goes down. Since the bore is larger, it takes a smaller throttle angle to create the same amount of air flow. So now only a 1/4 turn of the throttle is producing more airflow than the stock throttle would, making the engine jumpy and not easy to control.
Not a good thing for streetablity.
But length does not restrict airflow. It will affect lag somewhat, since it does take time for air to move from the turbo to the throttle body but in most cases, its not a big deal.
Your entire intake system should be relativley the same diameter, except for the manifold, where you want to start a 1-2% taper to the intake valve to increase velocity. Otherwise, you should try to match your TB diameter with the diameter of your charge pipes, so then you don't have all this air that was in a tight tube, see the throttle body, and since its got more volume, the air velocity decreases.

so how the plates coming.
so the all the plates gonna do is enable to you hook up your injection after the tb to avoid screwing around with the tps correct? if so, then i might be interested, might be......cause it already drilled in the black piece that connects the tb to the intake tube......would either have to get a new one......or could i just put a breather filter on the end of that hose?
