You found nothing searching because the only guy that did the swap will not tell how. He figured it out so can other people.

I know but if you know how to do it then why do you not care to explain how and help a fellow J-Body owner out? Did not one of Karo's freinds do it?

From my understanding, the bolt holes line up like they're supposed to, but the thread pitch is off. So I would assume a tap-and-dye set would be needed. Also, you would need to have an adapter plated made to bolt your throttle body onto the supercharger. You can't use the one from the 2.0 because it's drive-by-wire, your's has a throttle cable. Also, the accesory pulleys on your car only accept 5-rib belts. The pulley on the s/c is 6-rib. So you would either have to swap all the accesory pulleys from the 2.0, or cut 1 rib off the belt from the 2.0. Good luck with it!

keeping secrets is pretty pathetic in my book. Why would someone do that ? To get the satisfaction of being the only one who did it ? Looks like some e-penis thingy right there. Making a sticky about how you did it for all of us ecotec guys would give much more respect. It helps the community, helps us get faster cars, impress more car people, and eventually maybe get respect in the tuner scene.

Pathetic, no not really.... there have not been any keeping of secrets. Although reposting the same info over and over isn't something I've been willing to do either.

All the info needed for this swap has been posted in the past. All someone has to do is search for ECO M62 and voila... If someone has any specific questions that were not addressed then feel free to add to it or ask. But I'm not going to answer generic "How do I do this?" posts or emails anymore. After answering about the first 8 or so it got real old.

Scream, why would you bother tapping the head? ACE hardware sells different sized bolts.

Eric let me know how your setup goes...

Thanks Airtonics. I was merely posting my general opinion, and it was directed at the ones who do keep secrets. BTW I'm probably going to get the m62 too !

I was unsure. I haven't done it firsthand, so that's why I said assume. Good luck to those of you that attempt it and congrats to those that allready have.

Hey, Airtonics - does your ion have electronic throttle?

If so, would you like to know how to hook up the 68mm throttle body from the 2.0 engine?

Vxer,

I'm using the stock cable throttle body, I made an adapter plate. If there is a way to use the ion drive by wire throttle body I woudln't mind knowing. I plan on going to a larger TB anyways so that would be nice.

Although I'm not sure how I could even get that to work.... but I do have the redline's throttle body sitting in my garage.

I think the ECU is different between cable and electronic throttle applications... You'd have to deal with that before you'd be able to swap to the 68mm TB unfortunately - since the electronic TB is wired into the ECU...

No problem...

< here > is a thread on the VX220 forums discussing replacing the stock TB with the 68mm. Follow it down to the bottom for wiring info - it continues over the page as well.

Hope this helps!
