For us Eco's...yes, i wouldnt reconmend any other place to have your return line. Our Pans are really not setup to drill a hole into them just the way there shaped. That indentation above the pans girlde on the block is perfect for a drill and tap. If you have the tools its really not too hard to do. I didnt even pull the pan when i did it. if your cautious enough you wont have to either.

Drill it you using the appropiate (sp) bit for a 1/2 inch tap on a angle a tad. Then tap it with a 1/2 inch tap. Then buy a 1/2 inch thread with a 5/8's barbed end and use a -10 an braided hose OR a 5/8's or -10 an rubber oil resistant hose. hose clamp each end. (Use the same barbed fitting on the turbo return flange thats on the turbo itself)

hope it helps

Why not tap where its supposed to be.... in the girdle!

its easy and you will have the least amount of problems.

Just start out with a very small drill bit, and step your way up to the full size. That way if you are off slightly you can adjust a tad on the next step up.

I did this while it was on the car. I dropped the pan and drilled the hole. The picture with the green circle is from a different motor I took apart.

dont take what you think is a shortcut on something like that. It's worth the little extra time it takes.
