I'm goin with Garret t3/t4 60trim 63 a/r. I'm in the process, waiting for parts. I'm planning on running 8-10psi. The motor is a GM crate 2.3 quad 4, its got about 25,000 miles on it. You think it'll hold up with that kinda boost? Or should I build it up?
As long as you have it properly tuned and your motor is in good condition, 8 psi seems good on a T3/T4. It's kind of a big turbo just look at the CFM it produces and see if that's what you're looking for. If it's not what you're looking for, look into the T3 Super 60 turbos...a bit more expensive but a great size turbo for our cars.

Yea, once done it's getting tuned!! The t3/t4 is 678CFM. I was going to go with the Super 60 422CFM but, I'm trying to do a turbo that fits what I'm looking for. I do alot of city driving and this is my only car so, super 60 would be nice but i'd be at full boost all the time. I think the t3/t4 is my best bet, with everything else I'm doing it should work out good. In the future, I'm planning on building up the motor, once it goes.

Why would the Super 60 make you be at full boost all of the time? Just because it is a smaller turbo doesn't mean you won't be able to drive around without making boost. With the Super 60 and a .63 a/r turbine you would be able to drive around town all day long without making any boost at all if you wanted to. Unless you plan on being one of the highest hp cars on this entire site the T3/T4 60 trim is probably not your best choice.

How would a T3/T4 60 trim make him one of the fastest cars on the site? I ran a T3/T4 60 trim for 30,000 miles before I blew my motor (not from the turbo, from an oil problem) and my best times were only high 13's. Definitely NOT the fastest car here. If he sizes a hybrid turbo right, he will be fine.
My advice though... ball bearing
22 miles per gallon and dropping fast...
Because that turbo can support over 450whp and unless he plans to make in the ball park of that, its not the best choice for him. I said nothing about how fast his car will be, just hp. No point in having a turbo that big just to run 8-10 psi.

I agree with Skilz...... if your not shooting for the moon........ the smaller turbo would be better for you. Quicker boost responce, awsome performance for 8-10psi........ a few bucks cheaper.
