gm charger.....lean issues

i just got my charger on my 96 today and started it up. at idle it is very choppy, but the wideband tells me that my a/f ratio is greater than 17.2 but when i took it for a spin and floored it my wideband would go to 11.5 and then climb higher as the rpms climber higher. This really scared me so i set my safc correction to +50% through the rpm band and it still run lean. so i think im going to get an afpr to turn up the fuel pressure. Also my wideband sensor could be messed up....i got it off ebay....oh yeah, im runnin 320cc RC injectors. any help would be appreciated.... especially you shifted.....

Have you calibrated the WB in open air? You didn't give any info on what brand it is, so it's hard to troubleshoot. Also, you've got a '96 so I can only assume you don't have a swapped ecu with the GMSC reflash. With 320's and no reflash I would expect the car to idle really rich, not lean. I'm also not a fan of the SAFC to tune our cars, alot of people have had trouble with them. 1st thing's 1st though, you have to know that your WB is accurate, or else you are totally in the dark as to what's going on in the engine and could easily do more harm than good with tuning adjustments.

Your SAFC tries to change fuel due to RPM and not due to Boost. Trade it out for another type of fuel management system or just a plain "FMU" like the one Cartech sells.

If your misfiring it will show lean on the wide band.

the wb is an aem kit...... and at wot it falls rich beyond belief (during load) but when im idling in neutral the wideband reads lean beyond belief (sitting still).... as long as im rich when i floor it i shouldnt hurt anything should i?
