ecotec oil tap

hey guys

Currently I own a 04 Saturn ION (o ya) and just about done with the turbo project.

I've been looking at these boards for about a year just searching and not really posting.

But I do have a quick question for you guys.

On the ecotec people have told me that you can tap oil from the head on the drivers side

OR

Under the intake manifold.

If you guys could supply me with some pictures of your oil lines and such that'd be great (just watched office space )

Also if you guys could tell me what fitting i would need as well that'd be awesome

Thanks

go here !!

I have pictures of an easier location to tap for oil. You can also tap into the one next to it closer to the exhast side of the engine but still on the side.

I also have pictures of the same type of oil drain pictures.

using the port on the head like brandoson did , or using 1 of the ports on the back side of the motor is easier than pulling the intake

when the eco's first started getting turbo' d not much was know about all the oil ports the eco has

so now its not necessary to pull the intake off , but using 1 of the oil ports like paco loco used can still be done and does work as good as any of the others

I'm not to knowledgeable on the 2.2 or 2.4Ls but is there no Oil Pressure Sending unit to "T" off of for a turbo feed line?

I used the same spot as Brandoson. Its on the right of the engine if you are looking straight at your car and above where the EGR block-off is. I believe that you will need a allen wrench (not sure what size) to remove the bolt.
The adapter is an Autometer adapter/fitting and I think its still the one at the bottom of the Jegs fitting page. Like 1/8 M12 x 1.75 I think. Don't hold me to this until someone verifies the info.
One piece of advice though....be careful when screwing it in. We busted off the threaded end on the first one and luckily we were able to get it out and get a new one(Summit is right down the road). Get it snug, but don't go crazy on it. Good luck!

Confirmed:

Auto Meter

Part # 2277

1/8" NPT to M12 x 1.5

Thats what I have written on the packaging.

I thought it was 1.75 though... wierd. I guess its 1.5 if it works for me haha, or maybe that is just the length?

btw I have a spare one sitting here if anyone needs one I can sell it
