MAP check code and emissions?
Tuesday, November 08, 2005 8:01 PM
Hey guys, just wondering if my car would fail emissions or safety due to my MAP CEL? I think the code is p107 or some crap...it read as "MAP voltage low input". I was told this was due to my s-afc. Just needed to know if this will make it fail emissions, I don't think it would cause it's not like it makes my car spew fumes or anything. If it does make it fail, what can I do to make the code go away? Any and all HELP is appreciated!

EPA now enforces in illinois that i know of any cel's will fail you automatically. But i am looking into the afc problem i have been throwing the same code. So if i come up with anything ill let you know.

Whats funny is the code hasn't come on for a few days. Its like if I adjust any of my correction points on the s-afc it stops triggering the code for awhile. IDK, but I wish it would go away cause I've been driving around on expired plates for awhile and my luck is going to run out sooner or later when the 5.0's get behind me

Okay, looking in the NEW BOOST FAQ, it says to install the resistor on the MAP wires. My ? is will this work for the 2200, cuz all I see it on is the eco's. Also, there are a few people saying that it doesn't help. Does this mean it needs a higher/lower resistance? Just need the info to get my car legal, cuz i know the EPA regulations will fail me(those bastards!)
